There has been criticism regarding it they are giving away a pair of shoes or if the customers who are purchasing TOMS are just buying two pair of shoes. There have also been people who are unhappy that their local merchants selling shoes can’t complete with TOMS giving away shoes thus causing a thus of jobs.
Do you feel the company is “green” for profit or “green” for the environment?
I do think TOMS thrives to be a “green” company for their environment. They make shoes out of sustainable and vegan materials such as natural hemp, organic cotton, and/or recycled polyester and these materials are used on the upper, liner and/or the insole cover (instead of our standard suede insole). All of our shoe boxes are made from 80% recycled post-consumer waste and are printed with soy ink.
